First Appointment

There are many reasons to visit a dentist, and finding the appropriate dentist to meet your particular needs is very important to us. Dr. Hollar has a special interest in reconstructive, implant, and cosmetic dentistry, and limits her practice to these procedures. Because of the unique nature of our practice, all patients go through a complete comprehensive examination process before major reconstructive and/or cosmetic dentistry is performed.

For patients with a need for dental reconstruction or cosmetic procedures, your first appointment will be quite unique. No two patients are alike, and we take pride in learning how we can make a difference.  Before any records are taken, Susan likes to meet with you in our consultation room to listen to your “dental story”.  By taking the time to listen and understand your long-term goals, your vision for your oral and overall health, your expectations, timelines and life circumstances, we can then help you reach the best level of dental health both functionally and esthetically.

Dr. Hollar reserves two hours of her time to be with you at this visit, and there is an initial appointment fee. Please contact our office for more information.

Diagnosis and Treatment Planning

Dr. Hollar is highly trained in diagnosis and treatment planning and believes that is one of the most valuable services she can provide. We are trained to diagnose the needs for all aspects of dentistry, and even though we might not treat them all, we work closely with a team of highly trained specialists and lab technicians to provide the very best outcome for our patients.

Once we have a goal for the future and have properly diagnosed the problems, we think through all the details and treatment options and develop the appropriate treatment plan that is customized and affordable to your individual needs. During the treatment consultation Dr. Hollar provides a written strategic plan that includes our diagnostic findings, a sequenced plan of action, treatment fees, and payment options. For every patient, we provide a thorough understanding understanding of treatment options and fees before committing to treatment.

Emergency Appointments

Any dental emergency like an injury to the teeth or gums can be potentially serious and should not be ignored. Ignoring a dental problem can increase the risk of permanent damage as well as the need for more extensive and expensive treatment down the road. Dr. Hollar and her team are highly trained in treating all common emergencies, including toothaches, chipped or broken teeth, knocked-out teeth, extruded (a partially dislodged tooth), objects caught between teeth or under the gum, lost fillings, lost crowns, lost temporaries, abscesses, TMJ pain, swelling, and soft tissue injuries to the lips, cheek, and gum. Emergency appointments are available with Dr. Hollar at our first availability.
